Fancy driving away into the wilderness in a Lexus GX like this?

A unique Lexus GX470 rebuilt from the ground up to make Mercedes G-Class owners green with envy has recently been sold for just $23,750 despite its numerous expensive upgrades.

The first thing that catches the eye is the suspension, which sits around 4 inches (10 cm) higher than stock thanks King shocks and springs at the front end and a tri-link rear end system. Gussets are used throughout, the rear axle has a Tremec diff lock on it, and the final drive ratio is a fitting 4.88.

17-inch wheels come wrapped 35-inch, beadlock-protected tires. The arches have been widened to accommodate them, and a Magnaflow exhaust system can be seen in the back.

The stock 4.7-liter V8 under the hood makes 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW) and 434 Nm (320 lb-ft) of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case are used to leverage the torque on all four wheels.

As for the low price, it is likely due to the off-roader being 19 years old with more than 310,000 kilometers (a touch under 193,000 miles) behind it.
