The Lexus IS F left the market in 2014 and the GS F followed last year, leaving only the elderly RC F coupe (see video) on the Lexus F lineup. According to Japanese car media, however, the situation will change in November with the introduction of three new F models.
This includes two sedans named IS F and LS F and a coupe named LC F. The IS F will allegedly come powered by a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 good for 481 PS (474 hp / 354 kW) and 535 Nm (395 lb-ft) of torque. The standard LS features a robust and lightweight body and rides on aluminum suspension parts; paid options include forged wheels and a Torsen LSD at the rear axle.
The other two models will purportedly ship with a 4.0-liter V8 TT with direct injection. Its output is estimated at 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission will transfer the momentum, and the brake system will feature six pistons front and four pistons rear.
The LC F coupe will reportedly receive a more thorough overhaul than the LS F sedan, most notable points being chassis, suspension and body rigidity improvements.
To put things into perspective, the Alpina B7 xDrive packs a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 good for 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The Audi S8 commands 571 PS (563 hp / 420 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft). The BMW M8 Competition has 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) at its disposal, and the hybrid-powered Polestar 1 produces 609 PS (601 hp / 448 kW) along with 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft).
