Lexus has announced a special version of the LC Convertible called Regatta Edition. As the name implies, the car draws inspiration from marine sailing.
The killer feature comes in the guise of a special paintjob: the manufacturer applies royal blue paint in 40 separate layers interspersing them with nanoparticles that glitter in the sunlight.
White is predominant in the cabin, creating a relaxing atmosphere associated with luxury yachts. Whiteness spills over semi-aniline leather seats, some of the dashboard, the pillars, the windshield top, the steering wheel and the center console. Royal blue inserts cater for the much-needed contrast.
All tech stays stock, which means a five-liter non-turbo V8 sending 477 hp (356 kW) and up to 540 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels via ten-speed automatic transmission.
Sales won’t begin until the fall of 2021.
