Lexus sells its “1 of 1” LC 500 Convertible… to a Lexus dealer

The Japanese luxury car marque has launched its LC 500 Convertible into production with quite some hype, producing a uniquely trimmed convertible with chassis number 100001. The car fetched around $2 million USD at Barrett-Jackson’s, which is about 20 times the normal price. It now turns out the buyer was a Lexus salesman himself.

Kent Stevinson, who purchased the unique vehicle on January 17 and only received it now, is the general manager of the Stevinson Lexus dealership in Colorado. The car comes painted Structural Blue with Liquid Platinum accents, wears 21-inch Liquid Graphite wheels adorned with glossy black inserts, has carbon-fiber stepping boards inscribed with “LC Inspiration Series Launch Exclusive 1 of 1” and features semi-aniline leather upholstery.

Along with his car, Stevinson received a certificate signed by leading Lexus experts and the general manager of Motomachi Factory, as well as a bunch of behind-the-scenes production photos, a sketch of the car in a frame, a Zero Halliburton trunk package, an invitation to Scott Pruett’s driving courses, and more.

The money earned will be distributed between Boys & Girls Clubs of America (children’s charity) and Bob Woodruff Foundation (war veteran support foundation).

In other news, the Lexus LC 500 Convertible goes on sale in the United States this month starting at $101,000, which is around 8,000 more expensive than its coupe counterpart. Customers may opt for the $5,290 Touring Package that redesigns the interior for luxury and comfort, as well as $460 Yamaha shock absorbers and Torsen differential. Another $900 buys a HUD.
