Japanese automaker Lexus has held an unusual experiment recently, putting an LC 500 convertible in a freezer for a while to demonstrate its top-notch build quality and reliability.
The industrial freezer maintained a temperature of -18ºC (0ºF) for 12 hours. More importantly, the company went as far as to splash the car with water before the stunt, and removed the roof once that had been done.
Piloted by Paul Swift, the convertible then hit a challenging racetrack with sharp altitude variations and difficult curves. The racing driver had no problem starting the five-liter engine and reported all systems normal, including all the assistant sensors and touchscreen displays.
