Lexus LFA to get a battery-powered successor

Lexus has posted a video showing its fourth electric concept car, the Electrified Sport, and flashing the LFA supercar in a sneaky cameo role.

The description claims the new EV will be made with a ‘secret ingredient’ from the LFA. A fifth, yet-to-be-revealed EV crops up in the end of the video looking like a cabriolet.

The newcomer has a silhouette typical for an ICE supercar: long hood, cabin shifted towards the rear end, and a short rear overhang. The front clip design reminds us of the Electrified Sedan Concept revealed several days ago. The roof sports a pair of raised sections, there is a prominent diffuser in the back, and the taillights share their patterns with the other Lexus EVs revealed thus far, despite new housings.

All technical parameters remain to be announced. Carscoops reports that the coupe will sprint 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in around two seconds. If it manages to take advantage of the solid-state battery tech, it will then have around 700 kilometers (435 miles) of driving range on a charge.
