A 2011 Lexus LFA has just been bid to $890,000, the price of three brand-new Porsche 911 Turbos in the United States. The collection-worthy supercar had barely any mileage on and still wore its original tires to the auction.
The Japanese brand made 500 LFA units back in the day. Despite its flagship status at the time, the model sold rather poorly. The sales have picked up over the years, however, and prices keep growing today.
The example sold last weekend was number 107 in the batch. It sported a rare color combo – red exterior with cream-tinted leather trim. It was also almost new with just 430 km (267 miles) on the odometer – that’s 33 kilometers or 20 miles of use per year on average.
Like all other LFAs, this one received a 4.8-liter V10 designed by Lexus together with Yamaha. In its prime, the mill could pump out 560 PS (552 hp / 412 kW) and hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds.
The listing mentioned 20-inch wheels shod in Bridgestone Potenza tires produced in 2011, Brembo brakes, 10-way-adjustable seats, HVAC, and a premium Mark Levinson audio system composed of 12 speakers. The winning bidder got a matching travel bag set with their purchase.
