Lexus announces the LX570 Sport Package available in September

A body-on-frame SUV can never, ever truly be a sports car. This is why the Lexus LX570 Sport Package – which has just been announced – is little more than a convenient marketing moniker. As always, the Japanese brand prioritizes luxury and comfort over engine performance.

The newcomer boasts redesigned radiator grille, side mirrors and front bumpers and rides on new 21-inch alloy wheels. It already includes the Luxury Package (4-zone climate control, heated/ventilated seats) and adds to it a 19-channel Mark Levinson audio system, a heated steering wheel with a wooden trim, a wireless phone charger, and a HUD. You are free to choose between three semi-aniline leather finishes (White, Black, and Cabernet), but the ceiling will stay black in all versions.

Just as expected, the Sport Package ships with the same old 5.7-liter gasoline V8 engine rated at 388 hp (289 kW) and 546 Nm (403 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic.

Sales in the United States begin in September. At 99,000 USD, the deluxe LX570 is 8,000 USD above the regular version.
