Reports: Next-gen Lexus LX stuck in pre-production hell due to supply issues

According to Japanese magazine Creative Trend, the next iteration of the Lexus LX will not be coming on time due to semiconductor shortage. Apparently, the company’s South Asian suppliers were unable to deliver enough parts for the production to start.

Lexus had originally intended to introduce the LX in late 2021. Some even speculated that it would arrive in time for the September shows, and would go on sale in early 2022. Neither estimation appears realistic anymore.

It is not clear when the new LX may finally debut on official terms. In earlier news, Toyota had to limit the production of the highly popular Land Cruiser citing the same issues.
