Lexus ushered in the new LX in the fall of 2021 and said it was ordering time shortly afterwards. Unluckily for those who rushed to get a car, though, the waiting queue has now stretched out to four years.
The Japanese automaker said that the range-topping petrol version with 415 PS (409 hp / 305 kW) was affected the most. The diesel-powered LX with 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) is only 3 to 5 months late to the market. Since it is the supply chains and component shortages that are at fault for the delay, the company promises to review the waiting times once they start to normalize. Just when exactly customers in Europe and the USA should be expecting their cars to arrive is not clear, though.
In earlier news, Lexus brand owner Toyota informed Land Cruiser 300 buyers in Japan about a similar waiting queue, saying up to four years might pass until they get one.
