Lexus has posted the first official image of its upcoming second-gen NX SUV and announced an online reveal event coming up on June 12, 2021.
The photo depicts the rear end of the car against the background of Mount Fuji. Based on this shot alone, you can tell the new generation has a LED brake light strip spanning the entire width of the car. Guesswork is all but unnecessary, however, since a leaked video from the beginning of the year exposed the car in its full glory. The style stays the same overall, but most of the bodywork is new.
The newcomer runs on the TNGA platform and probably has the same 2.69 meters of inter-axle space as the latest Toyota RAV4. The same could apply to the powertrains as well: the RAV4 ships with 2.0- and 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engines rated at 171 PS (169 hp / 126 kW) and 205 PS (202 hp / 151 kW), respectively. Those interested in a part-electric car may opt for a mild hybrid rated at 222 PS (219 hp / 163 kW) or a PHEV good for 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW). The latter specification offers 95 kilometers (59 miles) of all-electric range.
