Lexus NX gets a refresh

Lexus has announced an upgrade coming to the NX SUV lineup (see video) soon. The main idea was to improve handling and driving enjoyment, but the interior and the driver aids were also revised in the process. Sales in Japan started today, March 2.

The body of the crossover was reinforced in the radiator support and rear suspension support areas. The front/rear rigidity balance was revised, and the springs and shocks were tuned a bit. The top trim levels received new optional 20-inch wheels.

The interior sports a bi-color scheme and now comes with added colorful trims. You can now put vivid panels on the passenger-side center tunnel, the glove compartment and the doors, whereas earlier the only accents were found on the armrests. The tint palette has also been expanded.

Feature-wise, the collision prevention system now recognizes stationary objects in addition to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. Automatic parking has been improved, and a video recorder was added to paid options capable of recording from the front and the rear-facing cameras simultaneously. The footage can then be reviewed at any time on the infotainment screen or sent to the owner’s smartphone.
