Lexus shows their big new RX L SUV

As expected, this year’s International Car Show in Los-Angeles, U.S. became the territory of many bright and spectacular premieres. For instance, it is here that Lexus held the official presentation of their latest RX L SUV.

The vehicle was built upon the next-generation Lexus RX platform, but its body became 110 mm (4.3”) longer, which enabled Lexus engineers to add a third row of seats to the expanded interior. Car industry professionals are skeptical, however, arguing that children are the only ones who would find sitting in the back row comfortable at all. Anyway, the car comes to the market in six- and seven-seat versions as well.

Potential buyers are offered a choice between a 3.5-liter V6 motor capable of 290 hp and 350 Nm torque, and a 308 hp-rated hybrid engine consisting of the same gas engine and two electric motors.

The car arrives on the U.S. market before the end of 2017, with prices starting at $47,670.
