The U.S. office of Lexus and fashion designer Harris Reed have worked together to build this one-off Lexus RX, inspired by the red shoes Dorothy wore in The Wizard of Oz. Dubbed ‘Ruby Red Rims’, the car also sports a unique exterior.
The wheels feature a multi-spoke design with an underlying spiral ornament that creates the illusion of motion from the light falling on it. The arches are illuminated with LEDs for that specific purpose, and the hub caps look like giant rubies.
The body of the car also wears a ruby red livery that falls off into black towards the back. According to Harris Reed, is represents a metaphor for choosing your own direction and following the Yellow Brick Road.
Nothing was said about the production prospects of the car or its unique wheels.
