As we reported earlier, Lincoln and ArtCenter South Africa collaborated on a project envisioning what Lincoln vehicles might look like by the year 2040. Four student teams came up with four prototypes, but only one was implemented as a real-life show car.
The concepts named Amongst the Stars, Ensemble, and Glider attracted praise from Lincoln Designer Kemal Curic, CEO Joy Falotico and Ford CEO Jim Farly, but a fastback dubbed Anniversary was the only vehicle to be present as a life-size mockup at the Monterey Car Week.
A group of seven students filmed a short movie about Greg and Julianna, a married couple that decided to go on a road trip to celebrate 30 years of their marriage. In the video, the two browse photos on the central touchscreen of the car and reminisce about the past.
The Anniversary looks very little like any Lincoln currently available in the States, namely the Aviator, Corsair, Nautilus, and Navigator. All four are SUVs, while the MKZ and Continental sedans were discontinued in North America and only remain available in China.
