The 2014 Lincoln MKX received a facelift three years ago along with a new name: Nautilus. However, its cabin – which many found to be too cheap for a premium vehicle – stayed the same. Well, it looks like things will finally change next year.
The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus revealed todays sports a different interior inspired by the latest Aviator and Corsair models. Additions include a digital dashboard, a floating center console and a 13.2-inch multimedia touchscreen – the largest one available. Dedicated buttons under the central air vents can be used to switch between drivetrain modes.
The Sync 4 infotainment system has received new online services, OTA update functionality and voice command support. You can now unlock the car using your phone app or NFC sensor. The Co-Pilot 360 assist package is now included by default in all trims, and Flight and Chalet trim packages introduce the cabin to fine natural leather.
Compared to the pre-facelift version, the new SUV boats a different front bumper, wheels and body paint options.
The 2.0-liter turbo-four engine raises output from 248 to 253 PS in the new version (245 – 250 hp, or 182 – 186 kW, respectively). Those who would like more power can opt for a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). An eight-speed automatic transmission fits both specs, but while the 2.0L one supports FWD and AWD, the 2.7L V6 is AWD only.
Sales in the United States should start soon. Prices haven’t been revealed yet, but the current-gen Nautilus starts from $41,000 USD. Production will also launch soon at the Changan-Ford joint enterprise in China, where the SUV will become the marque’s third model. The brand is not represented in any other countries beside these two.
