A highly unusual ad has popped up online recently, offering a 2002 Lincoln Town Car for sale for just U.S. $4,950. Apparently, the owner had it remodeled into an off-road-capable stretch limo… of sorts.
With a whopping 330,000 miles (531,000 kilometers) on the counter, a valid registration and insurance, the car had seen quite a bit of use prior to the sale. The owner warns that the insurance alone will add $500 – $700 to the maintenance costs. Fuel consumption is another weak spot, since the monstrous ride manages to gobble up 17 liters per 100 kilometers traveled on average (13.8 MPG in the United States; 16.6 MPG in Great Britain).
Powered by a 4.6-liter V8, the unlikely rally limo maxes out at 70 mph (112 km/h).
The technical condition of the car is being described as ‘average’, with the seller suggesting changing the shock absorbers, the odometer, the cabin trim and the paintwork as soon as possible. Whether the $4,950 price tag justifies it, though, remains open to debate.
