Lordstown unveils a rally-ready version of the Endurance e-truck

Lordstown Motors has revealed the SCORE San Felipe 250 Race Truck, essentially a modified Endurance pickup that will try to defend the budding car manufacturer’s honor at a rally event on Saturday.

The company wants to prove to everyone that the Endurance is an extremely robust and high-performing off-roader capable of covering the entire 450 kilometers (280 miles) of the San Felipe 250 run.

The rally is believed to be one of the world’s most demanding, because less than a half of participants ever make it from start to finish. Lordstown Motors emphasizes that it has no intention to come first; instead, it just wants to prove that the truck can cover the entire distance with good enough speed and without breaking down.

The Endurance spec sheet mentions a 109-kWh traction battery rated for 250 miles (402 kilometers) of normal driving. It looks like the rally truck should have an additional battery installed to give it enough juice to finish the race.
