Lotus, a British-based sports and racing car manufacturer, has announced the forthcoming release of a limited 3-Eleven 430 car series. Only 20 vehicles bearing the serial plate with the number 430 embossed on it will roll off the assembly lines. More importantly, it is going to be the fastest-going speedster-type vehicle to receive a legal admission for driving on general-purpose roads.
Intensive use of carbon and heavy-duty aluminum during production resulted in the new Lotus 3-Eleven 430 weighing only 920 kilograms (~2,030 pounds). It is driven by a 3.5L V6 engine with 436 hp and 440 Nm of torque, can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and peaks out at 290 km/h (180 mph).
Other notable features of the limited series include an updated body kit with improved aerodynamic properties, better brakes, and a purpose-built traction control (anti-slip) system.
Each Lotus 3-Eleven 430 is going to cost £102,000 or more.
