The first series-produced Lotus crossover SUV will be introduced to the public in a few weeks. In the meantime, according to brand CEO Jean-Marc Gales, the designers are putting some final touches on its exterior. Once out, the newcomer is going to go up against such luxury-class vehicles as the Maserati Levante and the Porsche Macan.
The all-new Lotus SUV is built on the same SPA car platform as the Volvo XC90 and XC60. As for the engine lineup, it has earlier been revealed that it would offer several gasoline V4s to choose from. A hi-end hybrid model with 400 horses under the hood will be released as well.
Lotus Cars is a luxury automobile manufacturer and part of the Chinese Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. The company will use Geely’s assembly lines in China to produce its first SUV.
