Lotus has prepped its Emira supercar for GT4 racing and displayed the result at its own testing grounds in Hethel, UK.
The racecar looks very similar to its road-going counterpart, but benefits from additional aerodynamic elements. The use of lightweight materials drops its weight by a fair amount.
The engineering team says modifications were made in the suspension, the main highlight being a set of new Öhlins shocks. The car rides on 18-inch forged rims shod in racing tires and boasts a safety cage along with a fire extinguishing system. There is one racing seat inside and a 96-liter fuel tank (21 imperial gallons, or 25.3 U.S. gallons).
Power comes from the current range-topper, a 3.5-liter V6 with an upgraded turbo kit. Despite some tweaks, the mill still churns out its usual 406 PS (400 hp / 298 kW).
Enthusiast racers can grab the Emira GT4 starting from £165,000.
