The British carmaker has officially announced the development of an affordable sports car suitable for casual daily driving – and incidentally also the last Lotus-branded vehicle still using an internal combustion engine.
The car will be designed based on the top-of-the-line Lotus Evija, which packs 2,000 horsepower (1,491 kW). The launch will occur either late this year or in early 2021, with production taking place in Hethel, Norfolk, England. Prices will vary between £55,000 and £100,000 depending on the trim level.
This is not the first time Lotus tries to release an affordable street car for day-to-day use, the latest such example being the Lotus Eterne Concept shown ten years ago. You may see it in our gallery and the video.
