According to multiple reports, British carmaker Lotus is preparing to unveil a new super sports car provisionally only known as “Type 131”.
It is said to be a brand-new vehicle the likes of which the company hasn’t made since 2008. The launch event is scheduled for 2021, and Great Britain is said to be the target market.
Experts speculate that the sporty coupe will likely utilize a brand-new, never-shown before technological platform and come equipped with a traditional internal combustion engine. Lotus supercars are known for their minimal weight, and adding a traction battery would negate that advantage.
No official teaser images or videos exist right now, but the three leaked 3D renders in the gallery here might as well depict the Type 131.
The all-electric Evija supercar shown in the video is Lotus’ latest model to date, and is still in development from July 2019.
