Watch Lotus drive the Evija EV on Hethel Test Track

Lotus continues testing the Evija, which it claims to be the world’s most powerful production vehicle, on Hethel Racing Circuit in Norfolk, UK.

Rather than focusing on boring test footage, the manufacturer shows us the five powertrain modes of its battery-powered hypercar. Range speaks for itself; City aggressively uses power regeneration; Tour is optimal for highways; Sport means 1,700 hp slamming the road, 1,700 Nm of torque and stability control tweaks. Finally, Track pushes the motors to their limits by raising the output to 2,000 hp, introducing strict and precise torque management and enabling DRS to minimize aerodynamic drag.

Lotus warns that the final production car may look different from the prototype depicted. Among other things, the powertrain on/off shifter will be gone, and the side mirrors will be redesigned in a road-legal fashion.
