2020 Lotus Evora GT inbound to USA and Canada

British car manufacturer Lotus has unveiled the 2020 facelift version of its Evora GT sports car series intended for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The newcomer will gradually replace both the Evora Sport 410 and the Evora 400 in their market niches.

The 2020 Lotus Evora GT will offer a choice between two and four (2+2) seats. Both versions ship with the same 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 422 hp (315 kW) and 430 Nm (317 pound-feet) of torque. The standard transmission is six-speed manual, but you can pay extra for an automatic one with a paddle shifter. This has an additional benefit of higher maximum torque (450 Nm / 334 lb-ft).

Regardless of your transmission choice, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) will take 3.8 seconds, and the maximum speed won’t exceed 303 km/h (188 mph).

If you feel generous enough, you may shell out on lightweight options for the Lotus Evora GT. The carbon rear body, diffuser and roof will take 22 kilograms (48.5 pounds) off the total weight, bringing it down to 1,408 kg (3,105 lbs). Installing a titanium exhaust system will cut another 10 kg (22 lbs).

By default, the coupe comes equipped with forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber, high-end AP Racing brakes, Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, and a sophisticated roll stabilization system.

The cabin greets the viewer with black Alcantara adorned with contrast-rich stitching throughout. There are Recaro bucket seats, a magnesium-alloy steering wheel, a 7-inch multimedia display, Bluetooth, SatNav, and a reversing camera.

The Lotus Evora GT costs around $97,000 in the USA.
