Lucid Motors was conducting an ad shoot featuring two of its latest electric vehicles – a sedan named Air that debuts on September 9 and a still unnamed SUV – when someone drove by and stole some pics.
There is very little currently known about the crossover utility vehicle shown here. It is generally assumed that it shares its technological base with the Air and has about the same range as the sedan.
The Air is better specced out right now. It is official that the luxury car will ship in several trims to choose from, the topmost one capable of 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts). It also features all-wheel drive, 130 kilowatt-hours of energy storage, and 832 kilometers (517 miles) of EPA-rated range. Production should begin soon in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Other, more affordable models based on different platforms should follow later, and Lucid expects 1,000,000 annual cars produced by 2027.
