After Lucid launches its Air battery sedan in the United States this spring, it will bring it to the Old World countries before the year end, media are reporting.
The cars will be manufactured at the company’s new factory in Arizona and shipped to the North America and Europe from there. Lucid Motors had originally intended to build a second factory for the exports, but ultimately decided against it. Reporters said a production site was being prepared in Saudi Arabia, but its construction required at least another year to complete.
The Lucid Air was envisioned as the fastest and most opulent sedan-shaped EV in existence, but then the Tesla Model S received an update and surpassed the rival in acceleration and range (Plaid+ version).
Considering the size and market placement of the Air, it looks like it will have to compete against the Mercedes-Benz EQS as well, which is slated for launch later in the year.
