The Lucid Air EV will be the first production vehicle to feature a sophisticated audio system with support for the Dolby Atmos technology, which directs sound waves squarely at flat surfaces to give a cinema-like spatial effect.
The implementation of the feature involves installing between 7 and 64 speakers. The electric sedan has 21, located at the ceiling, sides, front and rear.
The Lucid Air will use its audio system to improve interaction with the voice assistants. For instance, only passengers who failed to buckle up will hear the warning signal. Virtual sound localization is possible in the areas of turn blinkers and side mirrors.
The high-tech sedan will hit the market later this year.
