Lucid has implemented a feature named RangeXchange across its entire Air EV lineup. The owners can now use a special cable to provide power to other electric vehicles and appliances.
The photo accompanying the announcement shows an Air EV charging up a Tesla, continuing the tradition of rivalry between the two brands. All newer Air EVs already support this functionality thanks to a recent over-the-air update. Their charging cable is bidirectional by design and can pump up to 9.6kW in either direction – same as the standard household wall charger.
According to the manufacturer, using electric vehicle should become even more comfortable with the introduction of power sharing. Aside from other cars, users can power up all kinds of electric appliances through the same cable.
