Lucid Motors only has one electric car in its portfolio right now – the Air, despite announcing a premium SUV called Gravity more than three years ago. It is official now that the wait will end on November 16, when the company arrives at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Lucid promises us that the Gravity will benefit from the entire technological and other expertise its engineering department obtained while working on the Air sedan. The technical specifications remain secret, but the company claims class-leading aerodynamic performance and range.
The powertrain is said to be on par with modern supercars, and the suspension is air-cushioned with the opportunity to switch between comfort and sport modes. The interior is opulent and seats between five and seven passengers. The six-seat version will most likely be offered with particularly deluxe seats in the middle row.
Looking back at the current Lucid Air lineup, some of the cars pack more than 1,200 horsepower (900 kilowatts) while others exceed 800 km (500 miles) of range. The Gravity should end up with similar tech under the hood. Some of the teasers posted before make us think that it will also be styled in the same vein as its sedan predecessor.
