Luxeed RX reveals interior ahead of launch

Luxeed, a premium automaker co-founded in China between Chery and Huawei, has posted the first official interior shots of its upcoming large crossover EV, the RX. It’s scheduled for launch later this August, most likely next week.

We’ve already seen the exterior of the RX thanks to the local patent filings. As for the interior, it looks about as digital as any other in a modern electric vehicle made in China. There is a relatively small, slim digital dash screen, a similarly sized front passenger’s display, and a large 16.1-inch infotainment touchscreen. The tunnel houses two wireless charging pads, a storage box and a couple of lid-free cup holders. The seats look sporty, ergonomic and offer heating, ventilation and massage straight from the factory.

On the outside, the SUV measures 5,020 x 2,007 x 1,585 mm (197.6 x 79 x 62.4 inches) large with three meters (118.1 inches) between the axles. Wheels come in 20, 21 and 22 inch sizes, and you can choose between yellow and red brake calipers.

Preliminary reports suggest that there will be two powertrains to choose from: single-motor/RWD with 377 PS (372 hp / 277 kW) and dual-motor/AWD with 594 PS (586 hp / 437 kW). Note that these reports are unofficial. All range figures likewise remain to be announced.

When the Luxeed RX reaches the market in China, it will predominantly have to stave off competition from the likes of Voyah Passion S and Xiaomi YU7, the local media believe.
