Lynk & Co 08, a Swedish-Chinese car brand belonging to Geely, continues drip-feeding us with teaser pics of its upcoming crossover SUV named simply the 08. The latest photo posted on Weibo is the first one to depict the soft-roader in its full size from the side.
The model will be based on an updated version of the CMA platform co-designed between Volvo and Geely. The media in China tend to believe that the same platform will be used by Volvo to produce the next XC60 generation, even though it had previously only been used for the smaller, cheaper 40 Series. As for Lynk & Co, many of their cars are CMA-based.
As you can see, the 08 features a sloping black top, a spoiler, some black plastic trim around its lower body and a long rear overhang. It sports distinct bumpers and lights setting it apart from the rest of Lynk & Co models. Inside, there is a large standalone infotainment display powered by the Flyme Auto operating system by Meizu, another Geely-owned brand.
The hybrid powertrain supports charging from a wall socket and comes based on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The rest of the details remain to be revealed.
The Lynk & Co 08 is scheduled to debut online on March 30 and go live at the Shanghai Auto Show in mid-April.
