The Indian car enterprise Mahindra & Mahindra has started sales of its quasi-SUV hatchback model named KUV100 in Europe. The first batch will go to Italy, with prices ranging from €11,500 for the base model to €12,700 for the top trim level.
The mini car series will then arrive in Spain and Hungary. Availability and prices will be announced separately.
The original Mahindra KUV100 (“Kool Utility Vehicle”, actually more like a compact hatchback) debuted in 2017 and has since undergone a facelift. It received new bumpers and LED headlights, a redesigned radiator grille, a more up-to-date infotainment system and a touchscreen display. The latter won’t be obtainable in the European lineup, however.
The Italian wannabe-SUV comes front-driven with a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder engine rated at 82 hp / 61 kW and a five-speed manual gearbox. It is only 3,7 meters (slightly over 12 ft.) long.
Once it reaches the market in Europe, the Mahindra KUV100 is going to compete for customer attention with such models as the Suzuki Celerio and the Ford Ka+.
