Maserati has revealed its short-term EV development strategy. The Italian premium automaker’s first electrified car – the Ghibli sedan/saloon – will be shown to the wide audience next year.
Like with all other Maserati vehicles, production will take place at the factory in Modena, Italy, which is going to undergo serious modernization for this purpose. First pre-production copies will roll off the lines in 2021, the company says.
Unfortunately, nothing is known about the technical parameters of the car, such as its power or range. However, a mention was made of two other hybrids that will follow the Ghibli: the coupe-shaped GranTurismo and the open-top GranCabrio. Both will enter production in Turin, Italy, and come equipped with Level 2 or 3 self-driving tech. The Ghibli will also receive a basic self-drive system as a paid option.
