The Maserati GranTurismo family is getting ready to welcome a new member – the topless GranCabrio, which is going to debut at the Monterey Car Week starting on August 11. In the meantime, thanks to spy photographers, you can have a look at it without any disguise on.
The model spied had a Trofeo badge on, which means it was a flagship petrol spec. The latest GranTurismo Trofeo (see video) utilizes a Nettuno 3.0 engine to hit the wheels with 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. It also sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.5 seconds. In all likelihood, the GranCabrio will get the same powertrain, but its greater weight will render it slightly slower on the uptake.
Earlier on, the company confirmed that an all-electric cabriolet would also go on sale. Its coupe counterpart comes equipped with three e-motors joining efforts for 762 PS (750 hp / 559 kW) and 1,350 Nm (996 lb-ft) of torque.
