Maserati GranTurismo runs electric on first spy photos

A while ago, Maserati officially confirmed that its GranTurismo coupe was getting an all-electric version. Here is the first visual proof of it.

The test vehicle shown on the photos looks nearly identical to the standard GranTurismo until you notice that the front bumper intakes are fake and the exhaust tips in the back are missing. These are the two main clues that make us think the prototype is carbon-neutral.

There is more, though. Notice a charging port concealed right below the rear left taillight. The ICE car had a fuel door on its rear fender, but the EV pictured here has no such door.

It is official that all battery-powered Maserati GranTurismo models will come equipped with a trio of electric motors and a 800V battery with quick charge support.

Premiere dates and availability remain to be announced.
