Maserati posts pics of its entry-level SUV Grecale

It’s an open secret now that Maserati is working on a smaller SUV that would be marketed as a more affordable alternative to the Levante. After a few spy sightings, the manufacturer gave up and revealed several official photos.

The shots were made during a visit of Stellantis Group Chairman John Elkann and Maserati CEO Carlos Tavares to the Maserati factory in Modena. The delegation examined the production line of the MC20, the paint shop, and the Nettuno engine laboratory. Tavares additionally went on a trip of the Maserati innovation center and sat behind the steering wheel of a pre-production Grecale SUV.

The crossover should enter production at the end of the current year based on the same Giorgio platform as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. It will probably use a twin-turbo V6 like most other models, but a full-electric version is also under development.
