Maserati should introduce its new Grecale CUV later this year, but in the meantime, pre-production version keep coming one after another. Here’s a bunch of spy photos from the latest sighting.
The car comes wrapped in an elaborate full body wrap bearing the company name, and the disguise looks as complete as it was before. Compared to an earlier sighting (see video), the new prototype has different camo on the wheel rims. Its headlights resemble those of the MC20 or the upcoming GranTurismo.
Maserati uses the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio for the Grecale. An entry spec is expected to ship with a mild hybrid powertrain incorporating a 2.0 TFSI engine like the Levante Hybrid or Ghibli Hybrid, while the top spec should inherit the 3.0 V6 from the MC20. An all-electric version named Foglore should also join the lineup in the future, but it will not be available straight away.
Sales are expected to begin next year, and the Italian marque will have to compete for customers with the Porsche Macan.
