You know Christmas is near when even carmakers start putting their prototypes in festive red wraps. This Maserati Grecale spotted the other day wore holiday camo on its body, wheel spokes AND radiator grille.
What we see here seems to be the high-end Trofeo version, if the massive brake calipers are enough indication. The Trofeo spec is rumored to be coming to the market with a three-liter, twin-turbo six-cylinder engine the likes of which accompany the new MC20. However, while the MC20 extracts over 620 horsepower (456+ kW) from it, the Grecale might get a tuned-down version of the mill.
Regardless of the trim version, the Grecale series will have AWD by default, and the Trofeo will be able to redirect its entire torque to the rear axle. An eight-speed automatic transmission will be default in all configurations.
