Maserati had intended to introduce the Grecale in November 2021, but the pandemic saw those plans postponed until the spring of 2022. The automaker wasted no time testing the performance SUV, though, and this batch of spy shots comes from wintertime Sweden.
Camouflage covers it head to toe, but you can still see the sports trim and options, including large wheels and tires, performance brakes with red calipers, and an exhaust system with two pairs of finisher tips.
There are two opinions on what engine the Grecale Trofeo may ship with. Some say it will use the 2.9-liter Alfa Romeo V6 rated at 508 PS (500 hp / 373 kW), while others suppose it could get the Nettuno V6 mill that the new Maserati MC20 uses, although that one looks a bit overkill with its 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW).
Once it arrives, the Grecale Trofeo will have to compete with the Porsche Macan in its market segment.
