Maserati Grecale arrives at last

Maserati had to postpone the debut of its Grecale SUV twice, first because of the pandemic and then because of a shortage of electronic parts. But the model is finally here, and will be available in three versions called GT, Modena and Trofeo.

The Trofeo is at the top of the line with its broad air intakes at the front end and a 3.0-liter V6 under the hood rated at 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft). The new MC20 model uses the same engine and gets even more power out of it, but the Grecale Trofeo is still powerful enough to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.8 seconds.

In turn, both the GT and the Modena make do with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine assisted by a mild-hybrid motor. The former gets 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and the latter is marginally more powerful at 330 PS (325 hp / 243 kW). Both utilize eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

As for the interior, its main highlight is probably the abundance of touch-sensitive displays. There are two 10.25-inch screens, an 8.8-inch HVAC control panel, and a fourth display functioning as a digital smart clock.

Sales are set to start in the second half of 2022.
