Maserati Grecale gets a battery-powered version

The Maserati Grecale lineup now includes an all-electric Folgore variant that sits just below the petrol-powered Trofeo with a sprint time of 4.1 seconds (0.3s slower than the Trofeo).

On the outside, the SUV sports a faux grille of an original design, a new front bumper, black and bronze décor all around and illuminated front fender vents.

The interior is also black and bronze and uses Econyl upholstery produced from plastic waste. The 12.3-inch displays of the standard Grecale are still there, along with a HUD and a sensor panel used to access additional features. The navigation system on board is aware of the car being electric and can plot routes with charging stations included. The climate control system keeps up the temperature in the cabin even with the main e-motors switched off.

Speaking of which, the Grecale Folgore uses two motors combining forces for 557 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint time, like we said above, is 4.1 seconds and the top speed is 220 km/h (136 mph), the slowest of any Grecale model. The traction battery can store up to 105 kWh of power and yield up to 500 km (310 miles) of range. Recharging it from 20 to 80 percent takes around half an hour.
