Famous Italian chef cooks up a… Maserati Levante

The latest spin-off of the Levante SUV wears a livery designed by Massimo Bottura and is officially his new favorite ride.

Advertising the wide customization opportunities offered by the Fuoriserie program launched last fall, the off-roader boasts a deep blue paintjob with a few bright and colorful splashes for accents. The same applies to the cabin.

The Italian chef drew inspiration from a similarity between abstract art and mud blotches on an off-roading car. He reminisced about his childhood, remembering the times when he and his brother raced across the country until their car was all covered in dirt. He called the mud steaks “rally scars”.

From the technical point of view, the SUV is a Trofeo spec armed with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo Ferrari V8 good for 580 PS (572 hp / 427 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque. A ZF eight-speed auto transmission takes it 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.1 seconds and then all the way up to 300 km/h (186 mph).

The Maserati Fuoriserie individualization program envisions three main design directions: Corse (racetrack), Futura (hi-tech), and Unica (fashion/lifestyle).
