Car design ateliers may work wonders with the boring stock design of some vehicles, but they still don’t always get it right the first time around.
Startech unveiled its take on the opulent Maserati Levante supercar at the Geneva International Motor Show last March. And it looked sort of OK – mostly white with contrasting black wheels and red supports, sporty all in all... But somehow also boring. So the audience wasn’t really thrilled with the premiere.
The tuners felt they had to remedy the situation, so they braced up and went to the drawing board.
Now, we must admit that the second rendition of Maserati Levante SUV by Startech looks way more interesting. Sporting a body in an aggressive black gamma and a custom-engineered body kit including front and roof spoilers, a diffusor, front and rear bumpers alongside a set of 21” black/red wheels, the car has a lot going for it. The red brake supports are pretty much all that remained in place from the previous version.
The engineers also equipped the off-road vehicle with a new exhaust system sporting a pair of twin pipes, and improved its engine performance. Just how much we don’t know, but the series-produced vehicle is capable of 420+ hp (313 kW).
Owners of Maserati Levante who want their car upgraded may look forward to a better-lit interior with wood, carbon and leather finishing and Startech floor mats.
