The Italian luxury carmaker had intended to unveil the mid-engine sports car MC20 along with the Ghibli Hybrid in May 2020, but eventually decided to postpone both to September ‘due to the current situation.’
This leaves us guessing just what kind of powertrain the MC20 will ship with. Some say it is going to be the newest inline-six engine currently tested by the FCA Group. Others claim it will inherit the 2.9-liter, twin-turbo V6 from the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Others yet say it might debut with a hybrid powertrain.
As mentioned above, the hybrid version of the Ghibli sedan/saloon will also come into the spotlight in September. Right now, the car ships with a choice between a gasoline V6 3.0 and a diesel engine. The former is obtainable in 350 hp (261 kW) and 430 hp (321 kW) forms, while the latter offers 250 hp (186 kW) and 275 hp (205 kW) to choose between.
