The Maserati MC20 is a mid-engined sports car scheduled for reveal on September 9, but in the meantime, take a look at a fresh teaser vid.
While the video may not be too informative, the spy shots already available give us a pretty good idea of what the coupe looks like. As for the drivetrain, the MC20 will be Maserati’s first model to take advantage of the brand-new, in-house designed twin-turbo V6 called Nettuno. The six-cylinder comes to replace the Ferrari V8s the company is currently using for its Trofeo models.
Later on, the Italian automaker plans to tone the Nettuno down to fit more affordable vehicles. Its output on the MC20 will amount to 550 hp (410 kW), which is identical to the output of the 3.8-liter V8 the Maserati Levante GTS comes equipped with. However, the new engine has the advantage of being much more efficient in terms of fuel consumption and emissions, helping the company avoid fines for exceeding CO2 emission norms.
