Premium carmaker Maserati has finally revealed its latest supercar, the MC20, cementing its dedication to make a comeback in professional motorsports.
The newcomer boasts a carbon tub chassis and a contrast-rich body styling with black pillars and roof juxtaposed against white composite paneling. The lightweight materials help the coupe weigh in at mere 1,500 kilos (3,300 lbs).
Powering the car is a completely new 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine assisted by dual turbines for 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque. Paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the mill takes the supercar from standstill to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 2.9 seconds and all the way to above 325 km/h (202 mph).
The interior has seats for two and sports a combination of leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. 10.25-inch displays fulfil the functions of the digital dashboard and infotainment system.
Later on, Maserati will be unveiling a fully electric version of the car with a battery large enough to grant it 323 km (200 miles) of range.
Prices in the United States will start from $210,000.
