Maserati will officially introduce the roadster-bodied MC20 on May 25, and has posted a teaser pic according to which the car will be called ‘Cielo’.
The word translates from Italian as ‘sky’. The company claims it ‘embodies a new performance concept,’ which sets it apart from the coupe version, and promises ‘an unprecedented driving experience.’
It turns out we were right to assume that a roadster was coming up when car spies took photos of an MC20 wrapped in a cloud-patterned full-body wrap. We also added a new official video teaser to our gallery, which once again plays on the sky theme and gives you a taste of the engine sound – although the sports car itself is not shown.
Like its closed-top counterpart, the MC20 Cielo will come powered by a 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine rated at 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW).
