Unique Maserati Quattroporte Shooting Brake goes up on sale

Maserati has never released a Shooting Brake version of its Quattroporte supercar, but British used car marketplace Autostorico now displays an ad offering just such a vehicle for sale. What’s wrong?

Nothing, actually. The car in question is a one-off, custom creation commissioned a few years ago. This is how it happened.

In 2013, tuner and coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring produced four Shooting Brake conversions of the regular Maserati Quattroporte. There was a car collector who dreamt about obtaining one of these for his own collection, but, unfortunately, all four vehicles found buyers before he could even react. Disappointed by this, he subsequently visited dozens of British car companies asking for a similar conversion – only to end up with a heap of ludicrous £200,000+ offers for the work alone (donor vehicle excluded).

In 2015, he finally stumbled upon Adam Redding, a renowned luxury car restorer, who agreed to carry out the job. A year later, the unique Maserati Quattroporte Shooting Brake was ready to rumble at last.

The exclusive vehicle sports a Gunmetail Grey paint and rides on a set of 20-inch Mercurio alloy wheels. Its hood compartment holds a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder diesel engine with undisclosed specs.

The opulent interior trim makes extensive use of Nero leather and piano lacquer. There are numerous tech features on board, including a sunroof, a backup camera, satellite navigation, heated seats, and more.

The ad does not specify the asking price or the reason for sale.
