Mattel is celebrating the 70th birthday of its Matchbox brand by producing a limited series of richly detailed cast-metal toy cars paying homage to its legacy.
The celebratory lineup will be shipping in seven different configurations to choose from, each set replicating the most iconic vehicles of the past and the present.
‘We are excited to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Matchbox and the trusted legacy this brand has imprinted on kids and collectors all over the world,’ said Roberto Stanichi, Senior VP of Mattel.
Some of the cars use recycled zinc in their composition, highlighting the company’s intention to switch its entire production to 100% recycled materials by 2030. This includes the cars and the packaging.
